[Activities] AJA holds ‘Asia Journalists Cultural Forum’ in Gwangju, Korea

‘Asia Journalists Cultural Forum’ which was hosted by Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Asia Journalist Association(AJA) was held in Gwangju, Korea on Sept 5, 2013. The main purpose of the forum was to promote journalist’s contribution on promoting cultural exchanges and communications between Asian countries.

Journalists from throughout Asia including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Turkey and Vietnam came together and discussed how to preserve and promote Asian culture as well as encourage communication and exchanges between Asian cultures.

The forum was consisted of two sessions; “The Media’s Role in Promoting Exchange and Prosperity of Asian Cultures” and “The conditions of Cultural Complexes in Asian Countries and the Role of Asian Culture Complex.”

In the first session, Asian journalists will share their opinions what media can or should do to promote exchange between Asian cultures.

In the second session, current status of cultural institutions such as culture complexes, organizations, museums, etc in each country will be shared. Not only sharing each country’s status, journalists will discuss the role of Gwangju Asian Culture Complex(ACC), a main facility of the Hub City of Asian Culture.
